Plastic St. Joseph – Please Sell My Home

I found this “St. Joseph Sell Your Home” kit at a garage sale and couldn’t resist picking it up for 50 cents.  At the time I thought it was some sort of Catholic gag gift.  Then, shortly a few months later I received an email from my Grandma all about St. Joseph and his home selling wonders.  Wild Catholic traditions never cease to amaze me so my interest was perked.  This down housing market has people doing ridiculous things……including burying upside-down St. Joseph statues in their lawn in the hopes that it will increase the chance of a home sale.

St. Joseph – What ? Why? How?

St. Joseph, the husband of Mary and earthly Father of Jesus Christ, is honored as the patron saint of married couples, families, carpenters and workingmen. March 19, his feast day, is especially celebrated by people of Italian and Polish descent. Over the years, the tradition arose of St. Joseph having a special power in real estate transactions. European nuns buried a medal with his likeness on property they hoped to acquire for convents. Gradually the medals were replaced with statues and the focus changed from buying to selling. The statue is buried upside down in the front yard with the feet pointing to heaven. It may face towards the home (or towards the street if you want your neighbor’s home to sell!) The location of the statue can vary: by the “For Sale” sign, in a flower pot (popular for condo owners), etc.. As long as you can find it once the home has sold. After the home has sold, the statue should be removed from the ground and given a place of honor in your new home.  -Cathoilc Supply

St. Joseph Real estate miracle

I heard that if you bury an upside down barbie in a flowerpot you’ll marry a stripper within 2 months.

The Real Estate market has come to this?   These are real amazon St. Joseph  purchasers.

Your house sold in a month? Wow Lilly, only a month!  Critical thinking fail……

This was given as a fun Stocking Stuffer, but there is nothing funny about family member’s real estate that has languished on the market for 3 years. We will file St. Joseph under “we’ll try anything at this point”, and enjoy knowing that we are covering all the bases. It can’t hurt so why not?

Why Not?  Because burying plastic statues in your lawn is retarded.  Not to mention….wasting $10—-that could have bought you an ad in the local newspaper!

Good item as described , have enough faith things will go as God has planned it. I also used a green candle to pray to the Saint while i used the prayer cards that are included hopefully it wont take to long to sell my house but all in gods time i will be patient and know that it will sell soon.

And if you didn’t bury a stupid figurine in your lawn things would not “go as God planned it”?    Thank goodness you didn’t forget your green candle prayers.

I think St. Joesph helped. My girlfriends house was on the market for two years. She had many viewings but no offer’s. One couple really liked it, brought back parents who evidently didn’t.
I ordered St. Joesph for her last Wednesday. She had numerous price reductions,
it’s a buyer’s market. Thursday there was a showing to a young couple, Saturday
to another young couple. The agent called and the first couple came back with parents on Sunday, and that night we received a offer that was negotiated.
I have mixed feelings on the price, but Saint Joesph definitely had something to do with this and for that I pray and thank him.
BTW, the statue arrived on Monday. Hope he stays with my girl friend through the process and everything goes smooth.

Yeah…..price drops didn’t do it….it was probably the upside-down GiJoe in the front lawn.

1.0 out of 5 stars This is witchcraft!!, May 17, 2011

I am Catholic, I work for a large Catholic Church and this practice is using something sacred for a non-sacred purpose and that’s paganism – witchcraft.Insiders of the church know that and, rather than offend people, tend to look the other way instead of educating and warning people.
There is a real Devil – Satan..and he is pretty darned good at manipulating people and events to make his side look attractive. He can engineer a house sale in a flash if it means hooking another poor soul into thinking they should trust in “hocus-pocus” rather than in Jesus Christ Himself.
Amazon, I’m a good customer of yours and it grieves me to see that you are propogating material like this. Guess I learned something about you today.  So sad.
To those who want to make use of this little bit of magic, try surrendering your life to Christ, make Him the center of your world and let His Spirit guide everything you do, including selling your house.
JW

Oh, now this wise one sees through it all.  It’s the devil and witches making this work.  Never mind the fact that if you statistically measured this, you’d likely find that plastic figurines in your lawn have no effect o your house sale.  haha Reverse critical thinking fail.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Prayer is the Important Part, February 23, 2010

We bought and buried a statue from this company about a month after we listed our house. It was another six months before we got an offer. But the power of the prayer that came with the statue was almost instantaneous. Driving back to our new house after burying the statue, I silently prayed the prayer of petition, inserting a plea for peace in our stressed-out family, and some peace of mind that everything would work out eventually. By the time we got home, my husband had stopped cursing at crazy drivers and we both started breathing easier. Through a depressing December of no showings and little hope, I prayed the prayer every day, sometimes asking simply for peace in the family, sometimes asking fervantly for an offer soon, sometimes praying that the family who needs this house would find us before too long.
Tomorrow, before we go to sign the closing papers, we will dig up the statue, clean it off and leave it on the mantle for the new owners. Thank you, St. Joseph.

You prayed for peace and started feeling peaceful?  Then waited 6 Months for your house to sell?  You’re right, it’s undeniable proof it worked……my gullible gullible friend.
